Jazz Tuesdays at NYC Baha’i Center was also my home and the place for presenting all of my musical projects….My latest project is Jorge Sylvester Spontaneous Expressions, and because of Mike Longo this project was made a reality in action…It was also my last performance at Baha’i Center, and the last time we all saw and talk to Mike. He will always greet us with the question: “What it Is”?!

I remember that Tuesday night like it was yesterday….. We arrived at the Baha’i Center, and Mike as usual was at the door waiting for us. It was one of the coldest night in March…Extremely cold, so we went down the lower level dressing room and I spoke to the musicians about the concept I wanted to bring to the stage. I had written 2 Sketches and everything else was going to be improvise In The Moment..

We walk up to the stage and had a very short rehearsal of each of those Sketches (head and out). Everything else during those 2 sketches, again….happened In The Moment. After that we waited to begin the performance and there was not enough people in the audience to cover the Baha’i’s rental fee….Mike said to me, Jorge lets wait and see if more people comes out….We waited until it was time for a second set and in a sudden people started to come out and there it was…………

We started to play for hours and it ended up been A Magical Night.. The First and Second set was a series of Duets with each musicians and my self on Alto Saxophone plus two Saxophone solos in each set and one Octet (Sketch) performance at the end of each set.
